Raglan Naturally Community Plan

A powerful tool for flax-roots activation.

Grounded in community-led development principles and practice, well before those terms were commonplace, the community-led and driven ‘Raglan Naturally Community Plan’ was always ahead of its time. This innovation has continued to the present day. Available for anyone to use, the Plan is a living document that evolves in real-time as community needs change.

1999-2001: the seed was planted

The Raglan Naturally process began in 1999 when our community, alongside Waikato District Council (WDC) developed the first Raglan Naturally Community Plan. This plan identified key areas, prioritised community projects, and created a road-map for collaboration between the community, Raglan Community Board, and WDC.

2008 - Ideas Circulate

In 2008, the plan was reviewed, reaffirming it's relevance and producing a comprehensive project list.

2017-2020: Finding Clarity

Our community underwent a three-year process of revitalising our community plan.

2020 onwards: Momentum continues

Through the revitalisation process it became clear that the community wanted the Raglan Naturally Community Plan to be kept alive. The Raglan Naturally Committee hosted three facilitated workshops at the end of 2019. It was agreed that an official Raglan Naturally organisation was needed to continue community-led development and support the implementation of the Plan. In 2020, the Raglan Naturally Community Plan 2020 was created.
