the heartbeat of our community
You'll find volunteers everywhere.
You’ll find volunteers everywhere – at the Raglan Community House, Raglan Refill, Lions, Whāingaroa Environment Centre, Timebank, Raglan Trust Hospital, Raglan Medical and so many more places across our community.
From running workshops and supporting local movies, to planting trees, trapping pests, doing beach cleans, visiting residents in our resthome, delivering meals or keeping our visitors informed, every single volunteer makes a real impact to creating a flourishing Whāingaroa Raglan.
Raglan Naturally Community Trust brings our amazing volunteer community together to celebrate the amazing mahi that they do.
Poihākena Marae
Celebrating Volunteers event.
Our 2025 Celebrating Volunteers event at Poihākena Marae was a beautiful day of connection, recognition and aroha.
Volunteers were treated to mirimiri/massage, haircuts, facials, makeup, live music, spot prizes and an abundance of delicious kai.
Many experienced a marae welcome for the first time, adding a powerful sense of place and whakawhanaungatanga to the occasion.
“It was such a feel-good day. Being welcomed onto the marae and treated with so much manaaki was unforgettable.”
The Raglan Chronicle
Raglan celebrates the heart of the community during National Volunteer Week.
In celebration of National Volunteer Week from June 16-22, 2024, Raglan Naturally paid tribute to the profound impact of volunteers in the Whāingaroa community. This year’s national theme, “Whiria te tangata – Weave the people together,” underscored the collective spirit and dedication of volunteers throughout Aotearoa.
The event on June 16 brought together numerous individuals whose contributions are vital to the vibrancy of the Whāingaroa community. More than 65 local organisations and groups in Raglan operate with the support of volunteers, showcasing the community’s robust volunteer network.
