Time: 9:00am-4:30pm
Where: Whaingaroa Raglan (venue TBC)


Cost: $25 (includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea)

Open to: Residents and people with a close connection to the Whaingaroa / Raglan area

The workshop will cover:

  • The relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to all peoples in Aotearoa today
    The Māori-European relationships leading to the signing of the Treaty
  • Māori aspirations for the relationship with new settlers as shown in the Declaration of Independence (He Wakaputanga o te Rangatira o Nu Tireni)
  • What Te Tiriti o Waitangi says
  • A comparison with the English version The Treaty of Waitangi
  • A timeline of colonisation in this country and its impacts
