Open to: Residents and people with a close connection to the Whaingaroa / Raglan area
The workshop will cover:
- The relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to all peoples in Aotearoa today
The Māori-European relationships leading to the signing of the Treaty - Māori aspirations for the relationship with new settlers as shown in the Declaration of Independence (He Wakaputanga o te Rangatira o Nu Tireni)
- What Te Tiriti o Waitangi says
- A comparison with the English version The Treaty of Waitangi
- A timeline of colonisation in this country and its impacts
