Celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, with a rich program of film, art, and kōrero that highlights the power of Indigenous knowledge.

“I am the River and the River is Me”: An award-winning story of the Whanganui river.
“Te Kūmara”: A documentary on traditional kūmara growing and storing, produced by Te Mauri Tau.
Short Films by taonga pūoro artist Komako-aroha Silver.
Art Exhibitions
Multi-medium exhibitions by local Māori artists and collectives.
Inspirational Talks
- Angeline Greensill: Political and environmental rights campaigner, speaking on the Matariki public holiday.
- Toreparu Wetland Restoration Project: Presentations by scientists and Ngati Whakamarurangi hapū representatives on their efforts to restore this crucial wetland.
