Our Priority areas for 2025-2026 include: Educate, Create Activate – Ambitious Activators Achieving the flourishing relationships envisioned in Te Tiriti o Waitangi requires learning and sharing: connecting with the stories of people and place that are unique to Whāingaroa. A locally made documentary sharing the stories of stories and place. The Geology of Karioi Volcano Book Launch & Exhibition (7-14 September 2024) explored 300,000 years of volcanic history through Oliver McLeod’s book and a public exhibition. The event combined geological science and mātauranga Māori to deepen the community’s connection to the local landscape. The Department of Internal Affairs, Lotteries Communities Facilities Fund, have recently confirmed the successful funding application by Raglan Naturally for a feasibility study into a possible cultural and community facility on this site and a second parcel on Bow Street, formerly Hart’s Garage. These forums invited locals to map how past and present actions contribute to resilience and to identify new opportunities to strengthen it in The Whaingaroa Raglan Destination Management Organisation completed a project to restore the public art on the iconic water reservoir tower. Raglan Naturally supported WRDMO by facilitating community engagement for the Water Tower Project, providing communication support and advisory guidance for funding. Work with community groups to support new projects. Supporting the Board with future funding and partnerships for the organisation.
