Raglan Naturally has hosted events like Neighbours Day, Youth Week support, and well-being workshops to strengthen community connections. Through surveys and discussions, we’ve identified priorities for future collaboration, engaging over 650 participants. These events fostered community building, education, and planning for a more connected future.

Matariki ki Whāingaroa 2024 Festival

Objective

The Matariki ki Whāingaroa 2024 Festival aimed to celebrate the power and possibilities within mātauranga Māori through the storytelling of people and place.

  • The festival featured a multi-generational, multi-medium art exhibition with 12 local Māori artists, showcasing both first-time exhibitors and internationally renowned local talent, reflecting a tuākana-tēina kaupapa.
  • Four nights of kōrero and film screenings, including the premiere of the Waitangi Day 2024 short film.
  • A wetland presentation to Raglan Area School by local wetland specialist Mahuru Robb.
